While headlines often spotlight billion-dollar deals, nearly half of startup M&A involves pre-seed and seed-stage companies. These smaller acquisitions—acquihires, tuck-ins, bolt-ons—may seem modest but can represent significant wins for founders and their teams. M&A activity rose 13% year-over-year, though actual wealth created remains uncertain, given prior overvaluations in the VC landscape.
