Thompson Hine LLP is pleased to announce that the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) has selected Thompson Hine partner Tanya C. Nesbitt as a Fellow and managing associate Anna K. Stark and associate Matthew Harris as Pathfinders. LCLD actively promotes diversity and inclusion in the legal profession through initiatives aimed at advancing a new generation of leaders.
As a member of the 2023 class of Fellows, Nesbitt will take part in a year-long, in-depth program devoted to relationship building, leadership training, small group sessions and extensive interaction with LCLD’s leadership, members (managing partners and general counsel) and alumni.
A partner in the firm’s Environmental practice group, Nesbitt’s practice includes over a decade of litigation experience in private practice and the federal government, she also has litigated complex environmental matters arising under NEPA, FLPMA, CERCLA and other federal resource management statutes. She also advises clients on their advertising and marketing of environmental benefit claims and associated regulatory trends related to greenwashing and sustainability.
As members of the 2023 Pathfinders class, Stark and Harris will participate in a program for diverse, high-potential, early-career attorneys designed to provide practical tools for developing and leveraging internal professional networks through relationship-building skills, foundational leadership skills and an understanding of career development strategies.
Stark is a managing associate in the firm’s Business Litigation group. She represents corporations, directors and officers in class action securities litigation and derivative shareholder litigation and serves clients in the financial services industry in litigation and FINRA disputes. Her practice also includes false claims litigation, government enforcement, internal investigations, and criminal prosecutions for a variety of clients, particularly technology services and life science companies.
Harris, an associate in the firm’s Corporate Transactions & Securities practice group, represents both public and private companies in a broad range of corporate matters. His practice includes mergers and acquisitions, corporate formation and general governance, new ventures, and commercial contracts. Thompson Hine will also participate in the 1L LCLD Scholars Program, which matches law students with attorneys from LCLD member organizations, providing them with professional experience and introducing them to the value of relationships and building networks with LCLD members.
